What is this site?
The AccidentalTechie has been in existence since 1992, when I began consulting with non-profit and NGO groups on their technology strategies and projects. The need was so great among organizations that I literally found myself experiencing a 'career change' even when I did not set out to do so. I was a high school teacher at a private boarding school (a non-profit research center). I never imagined that my own use of programming and networking tools to serve my school community would soon begin to take me around the world, working in all kinds of conditions, on an assortment of projects.
This is a starting point for growth in my learning more about the range of open-source community organizing tools. It's also a way to bring people together around the MacOS and the Internet. I hope that much of the ultimate content of the site is usable for any web or internet developer, whether or not they use the MacOS as their primary work computer. But, things are still mostly about using the MacOS as the primary computing platform in non-profit and educational development.
Again, how do I get started using the site?
To begin, visit the central starting point, which is managed with the Drupal software.
